Ventures & Gifts

    The UCSD Student Foundation engages in a variety of ventures and gives a broad range of gifts and scholarships in order to accomplish our goal of promoting philanthropy amongst the UCSD student body.

    Current Ventures

  • I Pledge UCSD campaign allows students to make a positive difference in the future of UCSD. The endeavor allows UCSD students to donate annually to causes that will improve campus life and offer students new opportunities.
  • Senior Class Gift Endowment Fund is a permanent gift to which each senior class contributes in support of UCSD. The endowment income provides undergraduate scholarships as determined by the UCSd Student Foundation's Senior Class Gift Committee.
  • Dance Marathon is UCSD's only annual Dance Marathon. It benefits both the UCSD Student Foundation and a choosen charity.
  • UCSD Cares brings student organizations together to provide contributions to local San Diego charities through donations, fundraising, and mini-service activities.
  • Make A Splash For Scholarships event brings students and administrators together in the spirit of philanthropy. The event lets students dunk their favorite administrator in our dunk tank to raise money for student scholarships at UCSD
  • Vision Grant gives a UCSD student the opportunity to realize a philanthropic endeavor of their own. The author of the winning grant will receive $1,000 towards their project and oversight assistance from the UCSDSF in carrying it out.
  • Day Tuition Ends is a educational campaign that raises awareness about where the money, in addition to their paid tuition, originates from for a student to attend UCSD. Signs are posted along library walk with various facts.

    • Past Gifts

  • Olympian Donor of Chancellor's 5k Run/Walk for Scholars, which creates $1,000 award scholarships.
  • Wall of Student Excellence - dedicated to the promotion of student volunteerism and good works. The wall is a multimedia system that is placed in various locations throughout Price Center. It serves as free video advertising for student organizations to announce upcoming events and awards.
  • Unolympics Supporter - donating water for parched UCSD students to drink as they compete for 'The Shoe' in UCSD's longest running college competition during Welcome Week.
  • Change For Change Fundraiser - a college competition raising over $10,000 in student and matching donations to build a tutoring area at the Preuss School, secure playground equipment for the International Center Daycare, and provide funding for Alzheimer's research and free healthcare clinic programs in the San Diego community.
